BERLIN — Symrise AG second-quarter net profits increased 4.2 percent to 49.4 million euros, or $67.8 million.
The Holzminden, Germany-based maker of flavors and fragrances registered sales down 1 percent in the period to 472.1 million euros, or $647.5 million.
In the first half, Symrise recorded net income of 101.3 million euros, or $138.9 million, up 8.5 percent.
Group sales in the January-June period rose 0.8 percent to 941.8 million euros, or $1.29 billion, with all regions contributing to the growth, the company said.

Symrise’s scent and care division, which generates more than half of group revenues, posted sales up 0.5 percent to 492.5 million euros, or $675.2 million.
Dollar figures are calculated at average exchange for the period to which they refer.
