On Sept. 8, The Glasshouse was the backdrop for the fifth annual WWD x FN x Beauty Inc Women in Power forum in New York. WWD marked the occasion as part of its ongoing 115th anniversary celebrations and to kick off fashion month.
Industry leaders who spoke at the event included Trinny Woodall, founder of the beauty brand Trinny London; Tracy Anderson; Reformation’s chief executive officer Hali Borenstein; Brunello Cucinelli’s vice president and co-creative director Carolina Cucinelli; Amazon’s general manager of health and beauty Melis del Rey; The Frankie Shop founder Gaëlle Drevet; WNBA’s chief growth officer Colie Edison; Elemis’ cofounder and global president Noella Gabriel; Marina Larroude; Coach’s chief marketing officer Joon Silverstein, and Martha Stewart.
In celebration of WWD’s annual Women in Power list, industry leaders spoke at the full-day event around the theme of trailblazing women in the fashion, beauty and entertainment industries. The forum had pioneers from their respective industries share their perspectives on leadership, creativity and the future of influence.
The event was hosted by Amanda Smith, Fairchild Media Group’s chief executive officer; Jenny B. Fine, editor in chief of Beauty Inc and executive editor of beauty at WWD; Kathy Lee, deputy editor of WWD, and Katie Abel, executive editor of Footwear News.
Since opening four years ago, The Glasshouse in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood has become a hot spot for private events. It has a capacity for 1,850 guests and a total of 75,000 square feet, with 50,000 square feet for the event level and another 25,000 square feet of ancillary space. The venue has hosted a slew of high-profile galas, corporate events, fashion shows, product launches, immersive experiences and social celebrations.
As a completely blank canvas, the venue space is versatile, offering multiple layouts for large-scale events and floor-to-ceiling windows. Situated alongside the Hudson River, The Glasshouse has two outdoor terrace spaces with views of the river and New York skyline, which provides a backdrop for cocktail hours and receptions.
The space also boasts state-of-the-art audio, video and lighting capabilities; a fully furnished VIP lounge with a private bar, marble shower suite, TV and separate VIP entrance; three green rooms equipped with fridge, shower, TV, vanity toiletries and private outdoor terrace space, and three production rooms.
