New York City’s newest longevity clinic has arrived.
Today, Biograph, a preventative health destination cofounded by longevity expert Dr. Peter Attia and businessman John Hering, has announced its second location in the Financial District of New York. Biograph’s first location is located in the Bay Area of San Francisco and opened in February. The clinic will offer two types of annual memberships: the Core membership at $7,500 and the Black membership at $15,000. Each membership analyzes the patient’s risks of cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative disease and metabolic disease, as well as overall quality of life. While both memberships include a slew of diagnostics, the Black membership includes a few more advanced tests, such as the blood multi-cancer early detection test and additional check-ins throughout the patient’s journey.
Both memberships include key diagnostic tests, like bloodwork, Dexa scans, CT coronary calcium scan, grip strength testing, MRI whole body screening, personalized nutrition and fitness programs, retinal imaging, nutrition and micronutrient testing, EKGs and more.
“We are looking to establish ourselves as the premier preventive health and diagnostics platform,” said Biograph’s executive medical director Dr. Michael Doney. “[We are] revolutionizing the approach to preventive health by combining best-in-class diagnostics, very distinctive member experience and then access to evidence-driven, personalized lifestyle-based care plans.”
Specifically, each member’s experience begins with an introductory call with a member of Biograph’s medical team to go over “their family, personal medical history, their thoughts and their goals, their thinking around preventive health and wellness,” per Doney. Following that, they will come in for a diagnostics session that generally lasts around five hours and can include things like VO2 max testing, a full-body MRI and more, depending on the person’s goals.
“All of our members undergo a multidisciplinary review by our clinic physicians, our radiologists, our exercise physiologist [and] our registered dietitians,” Doney said.
The patient will have a private suite to themself for the duration of the diagnostic visit. Doney joked that most people feel like they are the only ones there, though the space can accommodate several guests at a time. Upon receiving all of their results, the patient will meet with the multidisciplinary care team to determine a plan, which can include interventions such as changes to diet and exercise, medications, supplements and more.
“We triangulate these results across all the different testing modalities. We understand those results in terms of the person’s life, and then their goals, their thoughts, their fears, their hopes about their long-term wellness, and then we deliver an evidence-based, personalized intervention plan,” said Doney.
He continued: “The value of our assessments really comes from how we measure, what we measure, how we contextualize this information, and then how we deliver this back to you to drive personalized insights. The Biograph method is turning insights into actions, actions into health outcomes.“
While a patient could find value in joining Biograph for just a year, Doney emphasized the magic really comes from ongoing care.
“The true promise of this type of preventive health data is when you see this evolving over time, so our method is deliberately structured that we provide a consistent interpretive framework,” he said, adding that the plans come with regular check-ins and care.
While Biograph offers 30-plus diagnostics identifying more than 1,000 biomarkers, Doney highlighted two key services that set the destination apart: its whole-body MRI, which can detect diseases like cancer before symptoms arise, and CT coronary angiography, which uses contrast imaging to identify calcified plaque to determine cardiovascular risk. According to Doney, the results of these tests can be life-changing, particularly when something can be caught much earlier, which has been the case for many Biograph patients.
With two locations now, Biograph will continue to expand.
“Strategic growth is a huge priority for us, and we’re very excited as we contemplate additional geographies, both domestic as well as international,“ Doney said. “We’re also thinking about, how do we then provide even greater access? Parallel with our thinking about our clinic expansions, we’re also thinking about a more lightweight digital offering that will complement our clinic sites.“
