The makeup at Etro for spring was based on the concept of sensuality, “the moment when a girl becomes a woman,” explained makeup artist Mark Carrasquillo, who was working with MAC Cosmetics. The color used to represent this was a specific shade of pink, called carnation, reminiscent of the color of some skin.
After applying foundation and corrector, he used a carnation-toned lipstick and an eye shadow of the same hue. To increase the sensuality of the models on Etro’s catwalk, Carrasquillo applied false eyelashes. Blot Powder Pressed provided a natural-looking effect, and Studio Careblend Pressed Powder gave a smooth and fresh look.
The desert was the source of inspiration for Guido Palau, who created a hairstyle in sync with Etro’s fashion collection with a luxed-up bohemian bent. He curled the models’ tresses in order to create waves and at the end added “a short piece of extension,” a braid with two colored elastics giving a natural, soft and also sensual effect.
