To mark its first decade in the watchmaking industry with a nod to where it all began, Shinola is releasing a limited-edition version of its seminal watch, the Runwell, in 41mm and 47mm sizes with a custom version of its Detroit-built movement, the Argonite 1069. Limited to 1,000 pieces, each watch features a limited-edition marking of its number in the production line, a specially designed strap, and a custom “10-Year Edition” inscription on the dial and exhibition case back.
Both Runwell sizes are presented in a polished stainless-steel case with a double-dome sapphire crystal over a matte black dial, while the signature, script, minute track, and Arabic numeral hour markers are finished in a shade of beige.
The baton hour markers and spine of the leaf hands have been treated with a coat of Super-LumiNova for low-light visibility and the small seconds counter is positioned at 6 o’clock with an orange pointer against a black and snailed sub-dial. Surrounding the glass window are the serialization numbers to designate which unit each watch represents of the 10-Year Limited Edition Runwell out of the 1,000 being made. The watch is finished with a leather strap in bourbon, crafted in Shinola’s Detroit leather factory, and also features Shinola’s signature orange backing.
