EYE TO EYE: French label Emmanuelle Khanh and Tracee Ellis Ross are teaming for an eyewear capsule dropping Tuesday.
The brand’s creative director Eva Gaumé called the collaboration with the American actress “a celebration of femininity in the boldest, most empowered way that resonates with the house’s heritage and its contemporary spirit.”
Founder Emmanuelle Khanh, a pioneer of French ready-to-wear in the ’60s who passed away in 2017, was best known for her signature oversize eyewear.
Ross, who has been spotted in the brand’s designs before, deemed “French style… an anchoring inspiration” for her own, which she described as “quiet maximalism, unapologetically personal and functional with great accessories.”

The optical frames and sunglasses born from their collaboration draw from the brand’s archive as well as the actress’ love of eyewear, and bold oversized frames in particular.
There’s “Freedom,” an acetate mask design priced at $700, and pilot-shaped “Truth,” which goes for $505. Each comes in five colorways.
Produced in limited quantities in France and Italy, they are available at The Webster stores in Los Angeles, Montecito and Palm Springs, Calif.; New York’s SoHo, and South Beach, Fla., as well as on the Emmanuelle Khanh website.
