Ganni Partners with Fairly Made for Enhanced Traceability

Ganni has adopted a new traceability solution to trace and map its supply chain.

The Danish B Corp is teaming up with Fairly Made, a French startup that evaluates and scores supply chains based on advanced traceability analysis, which it began piloting in 2023.

Fairly Made 360°, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, develops ratings based on four criteria: transparency, environmental impact, social performance, and recyclability. The platform lets brands assess the sustainability of each item in a collection, tracing its movement through the value chain to identify areas of impact.

The advanced contemporary brand believes the French traceability and impact measurement tool is “setting new standards” for its responsibility strategy. By using the LVMH-backed platform, Ganni thinks it can achieve visibility across its entire supply chain by 2025. In 2023, Ganni reached 100 percent product traceability on Tier 1 suppliers and subcontractors and aims to get 90 percent of products traced on Tier 2 and 80 percent of products traced on Tier 3 by 2025.

“Supply chains are historically opaque, but it’s the key to understanding our impact,” Lauren Bartley, Ganni’s chief sustainability officer, said. “That’s why we’ve partnered with Fairly Made who not only support the traceability of Ganni’s products but also help us display this information to our customers in a clear and transparent way.”

Since 2020, Ganni has been manually tracing its supply chain. But now, the technology and platform will enable the Lenzing collaborator to be more transparent about the geographical makeup of its supply chain partners and the social and environmental impact of its goods. Ganni will use the data hosted by Fairly Made to track each product’s traceability rating and receive an in-depth overview of the product’s journey from harvesting to warehouse.

“We are proud to partner with Ganni, a key player in sustainable fashion, setting the standard for the industry,” Lauren Betsch, co-founder of Fairly Made, said. “We are honored to join forces and contribute to their journey toward sustainability excellence.”

The partnership commences with Ganni’s core icon products—like the Cotton Poplin V-Neck Midi Dress and Black Feminine Buckle Ballerinas—and allows customers to learn more about the products’ individual supply chain. More products and categories will be added throughout the remainder of the year, including the iconic Ganni Bou Bag and products made with Fabrics of the Future.

“With the Digital Product Passport Regulation coming into effect soon, this is a great first step and we are excited to roll this out across our core product offering, with more to follow soon,” Bartley said.
