YKK Vietnam Co. Ltd. factory in Nhon Trach, Vietnam is growing its footprint and capabilities.
The global zipper company announced last week that it is beginning the third phase of the facility’s expansion project. It is scheduled to be completed in June 2027.
The phase 3 Nhon Trach Factory will be in a space adjacent to Phase 1 and Phase 2 factories, consolidating YKK technologies on the campus. The Phase 2 factory was completed in 2024.
The new state-of-the-art factory which is sustainable from the design stage and fully automated, enables YKK to build a production system capable of delivering products that meet the various demands of its customers, including global brands.
Located in a region that has grown into a prominent global textile industry hub for items such as sportswear, outdoor apparel and casual wear, the YKK Vietnam Co., Ltd. aims to increase the factories’ production volume and enhance product development faculties, thereby strengthening their function as a core technology base in the ASEAN region.
YKK said a $83.6 million investment in buildings, machinery and equipment will support the development of a 99,900-square-meter facility on a 176,701-square-meter site.
The fastener manufacturer, which earned the highest “A List” rating from CDP for a second consecutive year, is growing other parts its business as well. For Fall/Winter 26-27, YKK introduced a new detachable shank button and rivet that can removed for recycling. It is also expanding its of low-carbon aluminum for zippers.
