Straight Fits Take Over as Brands Unveil Spring Styles

Denim brands are rolling out new fits for spring.

Straight fits are proving to be the happy medium for consumers that want a jean that feels sophisticated and comfortable.

Dynamite introduced the Cara, a high-rise straight jean. Made with 75 percent cotton and 25 percent organic cotton, the jean is available in short, regular and long lengths to ensure a perfect fit for an elevated look. The Cara is available in black, light and dark indigo washes.

Madewell kicked off the season by introducing the Dean Easy Straight, a women’s straight-leg jean with a soft, lived-in feel. Described as “the perfect balance of relaxed comfort and flattering shape,” Madewell emphasizes its versatility, adding that it pairs with almost anything.

The Dean Easy Straight is central to Madewell’s new campaign called “That One Pair,” which celebrate individuality, and the connection consumers have with their favorite jeans.

Other highlights in the spring collection include the women’s Flared Wide-Leg jean, a cropped women’s jean made with Cone Denim, the Pleated Low-Slung Baggy jean and the Superwide-Leg Utility jean. For men, Madewell offers wide-leg jeans, pleated denim pants and carpenter jeans.

Duer introduced the Performance Denim+ High Rise Straight jean for women. Available in three indigo washes, the jean is 2 oz. heavier than the brand’s signature performance denim, giving it structure while maintaining comfort.  Additionally, the fabric’s antimicrobial treatment enables more wears between washes.

The brand also introduced a new stonewash color in the men’s version, the Performance Denim+ Straight.

Good American also dropped new straight leg jeans. Styles include the Always Fits Good Legs and the Good Petite Straight with light compression. The classic fits are balanced by an assortment of palazzo, skate and carpenter jeans.

Brands are leaning into denim dressing and of-the-moment trends like Western.

Toccin’s new arrivals include the Eileen Wide-Leg denim pant. The high-waisted rigid jeans have a structured yet relaxed fit. The jeans are part of Toccin’s second denim drop, which also includes a denim trench jacket with a wide belt, a cropped jacket with an oversized lapel and a denim blouse with a front tie.

Oliver Logan updated its popular style, the Aberdeen, with more Western character. The high-rise cropped jean has a “textured and true-blue hue and perfectly placed distressing designed to evolve that spirit of the wild, wild west,” the brand stated.

As winter starts to wind down, Lee is lightening up with pale blue jeans. New light wash styles include the women’s Railroad Stripe Utility Cargo jean, high rise wrap skort and a belted chore short all.

Frame is going all in on skinny jeans with a collaboration with TikToker Alix Earle. The Alix, a high waisted, ankle length skinny jean, is available now for pre-order. The jean comes in dark indigo and coated black for a leather-like look.
