Sapphire Finishing Mills Enhances Workwear with Lycra Technologies

Workwear manufacturers are taking a closer look at how to improve the comfort and mobility.

Last week Sapphire Finishing Mills announced a strategic partnership with The Lycra Company that aims to unlock new levels of flexibility, comfort, durability and sustainability for the global workforce.

The Lahore, Pakistan-based mill is integrated Lycra Dual Comfort and Coolmax fabric technologies into MoveX, a proprietary workwear fabric platform already widely adopted by global brands.

“The Lycra Company is thrilled to bring our world-class innovations to a forward-thinking partner like Sapphire. Together, we’re setting new standards for what workwear can and should be,” said Alistair Williamson, VP, EMEA and South Asia, The Lycra Company.

Lycra Dual Comfort powered by Lycra T400 fiber delivers long-lasting shape retention, moisture management and breathability and industrial durability including resistance to chlorine and bleaching agents. Additionally, the fiber is recyclable, aligning with many brands’ circular design requirements.

With the addition of Coolmax, Sapphire Finishing Mills offers fabrics with optimized thermal comfort. The fiber enhances fabrics with fast moisture transport for quicker drying and body temperature regulation and consistent comfort.

Brands benefit from rigorous testing of MoveX fabrics, including an internal quality assurance and The Lycra Company’s global testing methodologies. “From stretch recovery and launderability to tear strength and long-term performance, every yard of fabric is built to earn the trust of both designers and wearers,” Sapphire Finishing Mills stated.

Sapphire Finishing Mills launched MoveX in 2019 after extensive R&D. The fabrics are engineered to provide performance benefits such as comfort, stability, chemical resistance and to be able to withstand frequent high-temperature washes.

“At Sapphire, we’ve always believed in performance with purpose. MoveX has been a game-changer for workwear, and this collaboration with The Lycra Company takes it to the next level,” said Ismael Abdullah, COO of Sapphire Finishing Mills.
