Fabric innovation is the backbone of NYDJ’s latest collection.
On Friday, the brand announced Re-New Denim, new range of seven fits made with Turkish denim mill Isko’s Reform technology. Known for delivering maximum comfort combined with holding power, Isko Reform creates a slimmer and more streamlined look on the body.
The fabrics are made with recycled garments sourced from Re&Up, the textile recycling firm owned by Isko’s parent company, Sanko Group.
Re&Up recycles materials from both NYDJ and other sources. Laura Burbano, NYDJ senior director of brand marketing, said NYDJ garments and materials from other sources are pretreated separately, then sent to Re&Up where they are combined in the recycling process. The recycled cotton and polyester are then extracted in batches and spun back into new denim fabric.
Two fabrics are used in the collection, and more are planned for fall. The first is comprised of 61 percent recycled cotton, 20 percent viscose, 17 percent recycled polyester and 2 percent elastane. The second is made with 62 percent recycled cotton, 21 percent viscose, 15 percent recycled polyester and 2 percent elastane.
NYDJ emphasized that Re-New Denim delivers the same premium performance as traditional denim, plus exceptional stretch, shape retention and all-day comfort while using fewer resources.
“We are thrilled for customers to experience our Re-New Denim line. The collection will bring to life NYDJ’s commitment to creating earth-friendly clothing that is better for the environment. The Re-New Denim line will offer customers the same iconic NYDJ fit and style they know and love, made with recycled materials,” Burbano said.
The debut collection offers an “eco-friendly spin” on NYDJ’s most successful styles including the Marilyn Straight, Sheri Slim, Teresa Wide Leg, Bailey Relaxed Straight Crop Jeans, Chloe Skinny Capri Jeans, Jeanne Culottes, Boyfriend Denim Shorts and more.
Additional styles are scheduled to launch in Fall 2026 and Spring/Summer 2027. Burbano added that the company is currently evaluating further additions for Fall 2027.
The collection will be available on NYDJ’s website in April. A curated assortment will also be available on QVC and at select retailers nationwide.
Underscoring its commitment to circularity, NYDJ is introducing a denim recycling program that invites customers to give their old jeans new life. Beginning March 20, customers can send in one pair of used jeans from any brand and receive a $50 credit toward a new pair of NYDJ jeans.
Collected denim will be recycled and transformed into future Re-New Denim styles, helping reduce textile waste and close the loop on denim.
