New York Fashion Week brought out the city’s trendsetters in functional and fashionable looks.
Many fashion week attendees built their outfits around wide-leg and baggy jeans. Dark indigo and tinted indigo were popular washes and distressing was minimal. Center seam details defined some jeans, while others wore their baggy jeans low for a ’90s look.
Jeans were also styled under wrap skirts and extra-long button-down shirts for a grunge effect.
Jeans were a natural choice for an array of Western-inspired looks. One attendee styled a cowboy hat and turquoise jewelry with a shrunken shearling jacket and Y-Project’s jeans with pinched center seams. Another duo channeled the urban cowboy aesthetic by styling denim trench coats and frayed jeans with cowboy hats adorned with the New York Yankees logo.
Denim maxi skirts were worn cropped and long jackets. Denim was a popular pairing for fur coats—long and short.
Others elevated their denim style with bold statement pieces, such as cropped patchwork denim jackets and laser-printed coordinates for after parties and brand events.
