Loose Threads: Lee, Diesel and Pacsun

Here’s a quick roundup of the latest news from leading denim brands.

Diesel

It may be fall, but Diesel and Colombian superstar Karol G are serving hot tropical vibes in a new collaboration. The Italian denim brand linked with the 2026 Coachella headliner for a 9-piece collection inspired by the orange-hued cover of her latest album “Tropicoqueta.”

The 9-piece collection includes a gray denim biker jacket and long gray denim shorts are printed in all-over silver and gold mylar.

An orange metallic bikini, one-piece swimsuit, and orange knit dress all feature lotus flower prints strategically placed over the bust and crotch. A floral print T-shirt is printed with the title of one of the album’s tracks, “Latina Foreva,” across the chest.

Diesel x Karol G

The collection also includes a baseball cap, orange sunglasses and an exclusive version of Diesel’s Double-D bag personally designed by Karol G.

The capsule is the result of a creative collaboration between Diesel’s creative director Glenn Martens and the “Tusa” singer. Diesel previously dressed her for her appearance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

“To me, Diesel represents what Tropicoqueta is all about: freedom, self-expression and stepping outside of your comfort zone. I’ve loved the brand for so long, so bringing the world of Tropicoqueta into fashion with them came at the perfect moment,” Karol G said in a statement.

Pacsun

Pacsun is getting into the holiday spirit.

The retailer dropped the Rare DNM Edit Holiday Collection, a line of jackets and jeans featuring statement embellishments and details befitting holiday parties and festive events.  

For women, the line offers low-rise baggy and bootcut jeans in patterned and deep shades, accented with rhinestone embellishments, intricate embroidery and embossed logos. Coordinating cropped women’s denim jackets complete the look.

The men’s collection includes baggy, extra-baggy and barreled fits, with carpenter and hardware details, metallic coatings, and Pacsun’s first fully printed jean.

The limited-edition collection was unveiled at the Rare Impact Fund Benefit on Oct. 29 in Los Angeles. The Rare Impact Fund was founded by singer and actress Selena Gomez in 2020 as part of her commitment to addressing mental health and self-acceptance. A portion of the collection’s proceeds supports the fund.

Lee

Lee’s legendary mascot, Buddy Lee, is the focal point of the brand’s new collaboration with designer toy powerhouse Mighty Jaxx and artist Jason Freeny.

The heritage brand unveiled the Lee x Mighty Jaxx collection, an assortment of tees, shorts and a 9-inch figurine that depict Buddy Lee in Freeny’s signature XXRay aesthetic. Half of the figurine is dissected to show how Buddy is truly born in indigo.

The collection also offers two graphic tees and relaxed-fit cotton shorts with the XXRay Buddy artwork.

The Lee and Mighty Jaxx collection is available now now at Lee owned retail in the U.S., Europe and Asia as well as Lee.com. Apparel prices range from $55-$85, and the Buddy Lee Figurine retails for $199.
