Loose Threads: Calvin Klein, Parade, Lee and Levi’s

Here’s a quick roundup of the latest news from leading denim brands.

Calvin Klein

K-pop band NewJeans stars in the final chapter of Calvin Klein’s Fall 2024 campaign.

In the campaign, band members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein wear the brand’s new denim and fall essentials, including logo baby tees.

Shot by Gordon von Steiner, the campaign channels vibrant color and effortless cool, shining a spotlight on NewJeans as a group and as individuals. Denim styles span barrel, wide and straight leg fits “designed for carefree ’90s energy.” Trucker jackets, puffer jackets, bombers and blazers are also featured.

“We are so excited to be starring in a Calvin Klein campaign,” the band stated. “It was a natural fit to partner with a brand rooted in confidence and with their team on a campaign that brought our personalities into focus, all while having fun wearing the latest seasonal styles.”

NewJeans and Calvin Klein teased their partnership in June, when the brand wore custom denim pieces for a performance in Tokyo. The band starred in Levi’s Fall 2023 campaign celebrating the 150th anniversary of the 501.

Parade

Parade, the sustainable underwear brand sold at Target and Walmart, borrowed style cues from the denim world for its latest collection.

The size-inclusive label recently launched Good Jeans, a range of underwear and bras with an indigo-inspired denim print. Described as “denim-dupe style as comfy as sweats,” the collection offers boxer briefs, a high cut thong, cheeky brief, bodysuit, bustier and triangle bralette.

The Good Jeans range is made with Parade’s breathable and sheer Silky Mesh fabric. The fabric Silky is made from “rescued materials usually wasted in production processes and spun into featherlight yarns,” the brand states.

Lee

In addition to rainwear and footwear, Lee is designing jeans for on-the-go this fall.

The Kontoor Brands-owned label rolled out its fall EverFit capsule collection, a women’s assortment of denim made with cotton, polyester and elastane blended fabrics that adapt to the wearer’s shape and size even if it changes. The brand notes that the high stretch denim make the pieces comfortable for travel, “replacing your airport sweatsuit for a more elevated look that still feels easy to wear.”

The EverFit capsule collection includes flare jeans, a button-down vest, a sleeveless jumpsuit and shift dress.

Levi’s x ADSB Andersson Bell

Levi’s debuted its first collaboration with Seoul-based ADSB Andersson Bell. The designs challenge “traditional norms by merging contrasting elements to capture the essence of innovation and aesthetic harmony,” Levi’s stated.

Deconstructed classic Levi’s styles are core to the 10-piece collection, which spans skirts, dresses, jeans, jackets and more.

Designed to be worn together, the denim corset and pleated skirt offer the perfect matching set. The midweight skirt includes sewn pleats, a front zip fly, and co-branded patch on the back hip. Crafted with halter top strap detailing, adjustable buttonholes, and a garter detail that can connect to the skirt, the denim corset’s gusseted lace-up details on the back offer first customization for a range of body types.

A spliced Trucker jacket combines ADSB Andersson Bell’s wool fabric with non-stretch denim to form a slightly oversized jacket with Type II pleating. The collection’s Half Trucker has open lacing at the shoulders and a bustier front that exemplifies its design ethos of mixing styles and materials. Both jackets feature a special co-branded backpatch on the back.

The collection also offers two new jeans: the Overlay jean distinguished by an overlapping front closure and the Baggy, a jean with contrast yoke and frayed details.

A dress, cinched blouse and two second-skin tops round out the assortment, which retails for $105-$430.
