While all denim needs to offer some level of performance, garments worn for manual labor have to endure more stress. They also must be functional for a wide range of tasks.
A newly launched collaboration between Cone Denim and AMK Atelier is creating fashion fit for workwear—with a feminine twist. AMK Atelier outfitted the women farmers of de Stadsgroenteboer in Amsterdam with custom apparel for their individual needs after observing them at work. The resulting “Rooted” collection—which includes a vest, cargo pants and a convertible short/pant hybrid—features functional details such as extra pockets, belt loops and accessories.
