TrusTrace Launches Deforestation Compliance Solution

Global traceability and supply chain compliance company TrusTrace has partnered with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and geospatial analysis outfit OpenAtlas to create the Deforestation Compliance Solution, a tool designed to help businesses comply with the EU’s Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

The Deforestation Compliance Solution uses automation to allow users to send hundreds of data requests, perform geospatial deforestation analysis in real time and generate pre-formatted due diligence statements for instant submission to regulators. Working with OpenAtlas, TrusTrace is able to harness satellite imagery and analysis, combining multi-spectral satellite imagery and AI to power the tool. TrusTrace also encourages users to obtain FSC Certification for their supply chain, as FSC Certification verifies that products come from responsibly managed forests.

Set to go into effect on December 30, 2025, the EUDR aims to protect forests by ensuring products entering the EU don’t contribute to deforestation or environmental damage. Companies must be able to provide full traceability of their supply chain to ensure products are free of deforestation-related practices. Multiple materials and resources fall under the EUDR’s purview, including rubber, wood and leather.

“For businesses, navigating the complexities of EUDR is daunting; they are under immense pressure to produce granular traceability data, which makes compliance practices challenging since they need to integrate new processes into existing frameworks,” said TrusTrace CEO and co-founder Shameek Ghosh. “This is where our new Deforestation Compliance Solution comes into play. It is designed to seamlessly integrate into the existing processes, ensuring that EU-bound products in the brand’s supply chain are compliant with EUDR requirements.”

The Deforestation Compliance Solution offers users a number of tools for maintaining compliance with the EUDR, including shipment-level traceability that allows brans to map farms and collect data, real-time risk assessment and compliance monitoring, automated due diligence statements, and access to supplier support and policy teams.

Ghosh said the Deforestation Compliance Solution also allows brands to be compliant with other regulations, as well, including the UK Environment Act and the US Lacey Act, which both require verification of supply chain sustainability.

“TrusTrace’s proprietary data collection framework for risk and compliance enables companies to leverage the data collected across regulations. This means that they have the data foundation in place to easily comply with current and future demands, without the need for multiple individual solutions,” Ghosh said. “With our cutting-edge technology solutions and partner network, we are uniquely positioned to help brands achieve full supply chain visibility and meet global compliance standards.”
