REI
REI has announced the addition of corporate communications and sustainability leader Roma McCaig as the co-op’s new vice president of public affairs and impact. In her role at REI, McCaig and the newly created public affairs and impact organization will work to scale the co-op’s mission and purpose, with work including internal and external communications, employee events and recognition, sustainability, community partnerships, philanthropic giving, public policy, government affairs, and broader advocacy initiatives.
McCaig brings more than 25 years of experience at the forefront of communications, business operations and impact to REI. Most recently, she served as senior vice president of impact and communications at Clif Bar & Company. Before that, McCaig worked in various roles at Campbell Soup Company. She also serves on the B Lab U.S. & Canada and Sustainable Brands boards.
Macy’s
Macy’s announced that Sharon Otterman has been named chief marketing officer, effective Dec. 11. In this role, Otterman will lead Macy’s strategic marketing, spearheading the company’s brand evolution and build awareness, engagement and loyalty amongst all customer segments, including brand activation, campaign advertising and content planning, creative, visual merchandising, branded entertainment and media strategy for the Macy’s brand.
Otterman has more than 25 years of experience leading marketing and transforming brands for Fortune 500 companies across the entertainment, media and sports industries.
Hudson’s Bay
Toronto-based department store chain Hudson’s Bay announced the appointment of retail veteran Liz Rodbell as president and chief executive officer, effective Dec. 1. Rodbell previously served as Hudson’s Bay’s president from 2013-2017. Sophia Hwang-Judiesch is stepping down from her role as company president to pursue another opportunity. Michael Culhane has been appointed COO and CFO of Hudson’s Bay, having served as the chief financial officer of HBC LP since 2020. He will report to Rodbell.

Contemporary retailer Vince announced the appointment of John Szczepanski as chief financial officer, effective Jan. 2 Szczepanski has more than 20 years of experience as a finance professional, with most of his career spent at Ralph Lauren Corp., most recently serving as CFO, global supply chain, brands and the lifestyle group, for Ralph Lauren.
The company also announced that Michael Hand, who was appointed interim CFO effective as of Jul. 1, will resign from such position effective as of Jan. 2 and will remain with the company for a transition period in a non-executive capacity.

Genesco
Footwear-focused company Genesco announced the appointment of Andy Gray as the new president of the Journeys Group, effective Jan. 3. Gray will drive strategic growth for the company’s largest business, succeeding previous president Mario Gallione, whose planned retirement was announced in August. Gray joins Genesco most recently from Foot Locker. Before departing in January, he served as global president, where he led teams across all regions and was responsible for Foot Locker’s largest global brand portfolio, including oversight of brand building, business innovation and all product functions.
Merrell
Hiking and outdoor footwear brand Merrell has appointed Pallav Tamaskar as chief marketing officer, effective Nov. 30. In this role, Tamaskar will lead Merrell’s global marketing strategy, directing the creation of modern global integrated marketing campaigns, elevating media planning and driving cultural relevance through collaborations and brand-purpose programming. He joins the team with a strong consumer packaged goods and media background, having most recently served as the executive vice president and managing director of Myprotein, a sports nutrition brand.

Schoeller Textil AG
Global textile solutions brand Schoeller Textil AG announced that Brett Jacobson has joined its North American team as western regional sales manager. Jacobson comes to Schoeller with more than 20 years of experience working with brands in the categories of sporting goods, apparel, fashion, footwear and accessories. Prior to Schoeller, he managed national key accounts for Suunto. He previously served as regional sales manager for Amer Sports Corporation, growing the Salomon, Arc’teryx, Atomic and Suunto brands.

A concept-to-consumer technology company focused on software solutions for the fashion and retail sectors, K3 has named Kimberly Morgan as chief commercial and operations officer, leading the newly-created K3 Fashion Portfolio, which encompasses K3 Pebblestone, K3 Fashion and K3 ViJi. AS CCOO, Morgan will lead the advisory, sales, marketing and product development teams to optimize K3’s commercial power, product market fit and amplify the global market presence of the fashion portfolio.
