Shuffle Board: Dunn Steps Down at Bonobos, Michael Kors Names Pesaresi President of Men’s

Michael Kors Holdings Ltd. named Andrea Pesaresi as president of Michael Kors Men’s, effective Oct. 15.

Pesaresi will report to John D. Idol, the company’s chairman and CEO. Pesaresi was most recently at Philippe Model, where he served as CEO. Prior to that, he had a 25-year stint at Ermenegildo Zegna, where his most recent role was brand director of Z Zegna and Licensing, which encompassed product development, brand strategy, international expansion and marketing.

Michael Kors Holdings Limited is a global fashion luxury group consisting of brands that cover the full spectrum of fashion luxury categories including women’s and men’s accessories, footwear and apparel as well as wearable technology, watches, jewelry, eyewear and a full line of fragrance products.

Columbia Sportswear

Columbia Sportswear promoted Dean Rurak, the company’s vice president of U.S. apparel sales, to the post of senior vice president of North America sales for the Columbia brand. In this new role, Rurak will report directly to Franco Fogliato, executive vice president and Americas general manager for Columbia Sportswear Co.

As a 21-year veteran with the Columbia brand, Rurak first began working with the company as a regional brand sales representative in Canada. In 2008, he relocated to Columbia’s Portland, Ore., headquarters, where over the last 10 years, he served as a key strategic partner, supporting the Columbia brand through various positions in both sales and product management.

Rurak succeeds Joe Craig, who has retired after 23 years representing the Columbia brand. Craig will continue to consult with Columbia on select projects for its North America sales team and will also continue to represent Columbia as a board member of The Conservation Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to engaging outdoor businesses to help protect and conserve threatened wild places for their habitat and recreation values.

Lululemon Athletica

Lululemon Athletica Inc. promoted Sun Choe to the role of chief product officer.

Choe joined Lululemon in 2016 as senior vice president of global merchandising and subsequently assumed expanded responsibilities for all product functions on an interim basis. Prior to joining Lululemon, Choe served as chief global product merchant at Marc Jacobs and also served in senior merchandising roles at Urban Outfitters, West Elm and Madewell.

Neiman Marcus Group

Neiman Marcus Group announced changes to its senior executive team, a first step in building high performing teams and creating a culture of innovation.

Carrie Tharp and Adam Orvos have both been given expanded oversight to deliver CEO Geoffroy van Raemdonck’s strategy to transform the business and position Neiman Marcus Group to create engaging luxury retail experiences. These two promotions, alongside the addition earlier this month of Darcy Penick as president of Bergdorf Goodman, complement the existing senior executive team.

Tharp, who joined the company as senior vice president and chief marketing officer in September 2016, was promoted to executive vice president and chief digital officer. She will oversee the evolution of data and digital analytical tools to enhance omnichannel experiences, with an emphasis on customer engagement. The new organization will combine customer data capabilities with channel experience innovation to create enhanced customer intimacy and engagement to drive business growth.

Tharp’s team was also expanded to include Lindy Rawlinson, senior vice president of customer experience and e-commerce, and Stefanie Tsen, who will join Neiman Marcus Group on Oct. 1 as senior vice president of omnichannel customer experiences. Tsen was most recently vice president of omnichannel experience at Sephora.

Adam Orvos, who started at Neiman Marcus Group in April as chief financial officer, was promoted to executive vice president, CFO and chief operating officer. Tracy Preston, senior vice president and general counsel, will also expand her responsibility as chief compliance officer, reporting to Orvos.

Jim Gold, president and chief merchandising officer, is also reorganizing his team. Melissa Lowenkron joins Neiman Marcus from Bergdorf Goodman as general merchandise manager of accessories, including ladies shoes, handbags, designer jewelry and precious jewels. Lisa Kazor has also broadened her leadership as general merchandise manager of all of women’s apparel.

TJX Companies

The TJX Companies announced that Rosemary T. Berkery was elected to its board of directors.

Berkery was chairman of UBS Bank USA and vice chairman of UBS Wealth Management Americas, a bank and a wealth management firm, from March 2010 until April, also serving as CEO of UBS Bank USA from March 2010 until December 2015. Before joining UBS, she held a variety of roles over more than 25 years at Merrill Lynch & Co.. TJX said her long career as an executive in the financial services industry provides her with expertise in finance, investment strategies, acquisitions, and management of complex organizations, as well as significant experience in governance, compliance, and risk assessment and oversight.

Bonobos

Andy Dunn has stepped down as CEO of Bonobos and has been succeeded by co-president and chief marketing officer Micky Onvural, according to a Linkedin post Dunn wrote. Dunn, who founded Bonobos in 2007, will retain the role of senior vice president of digital consumer brands at Walmart, which acquired the men’s wear brand last year for $310 million.

Onvural joined Bonobos two years ago as chief marketing officer and last added the co-president title. She was previously vice president of consumer marketing at Trulia and senior manager of global brand development at eBay.

Textiles

Unifi Inc.

Unifi Inc., a manufacturing of synthetic and recycled performance fibers, appointed Jorge Salazar as general manager of Unifi Central America Ltd., based in El Salvador.

Unifi, headquartered in Greensboro, N.C., said Salazar has a demonstrated history of managing operations in the textiles industry. Prior to joining Unifi, he served as director for CS Central America, a global polyester and nylon yarn producer, where he oversaw the start-up of operations in 2006 and subsequently led the business.

Unifi Central America began operating in 2010. Located in the Free Zone, American Industrial Park, the Central American Free Trade Agreement-compliant facility’s supply chain provides rapid response and delivery throughout the region. Through Unifi Central America, Unifi’s offerings in Central America include key products such as Repreve recycled polyester and Tru-Technologies, Unifi’s performance fibers.
