Just in time for Valentine’s Day, everyone’s favorite French beauty brand Violette_Fr has launched a limited-edition set of its bestselling Bisou Jelly Sheer Lip Balms in three covetable shades curated by the brand founder, renowned makeup artist Violette Serrat.
Violette_Fr first rose to fame thanks to its Petal Bouche — a red liquid lipstick that flatters any skin tone and which quickly captured the hearts (and lips!) of many a loyal customer. Serrat is one of the industry’s most celebrated makeup artists and, in fact, also serves as creative director of makeup at Guerlain. With nearly two decades of experience under her belt and a heavy-hitting resume full of esteemed roles (Estée Lauder’s global beauty director and Dior’s international makeup designer, to name a few), Serrat is an expert in color theory and uses this knowledge to inform her brand’s process.

Indeed, Violette_Fr’s artistic vision is heavily guided by its founder’s time at the École de Louvre, where Serrat honed her painting skills and “fostered a profound bond with art,” according to the brand’s site. Since 2021, Violette_Fr has been making the Parisian girl chic aesthetic accessible — with top-quality makeup and skin care offerings that are also vegan and sustainably packaged.
The first thing you’ll notice about the latest of such products — the Bisou Jelly Lip Trio, made up of three of the brand’s bestselling Bisou Jelly Sheer Lip Balms — is the interesting texture and appearance. Each tube has an intentionally tinted core and Vitamin E–infused jelly outer layer — granting lasting moisture and concentrated, slightly blurred color payoff to achieve the “bouche mordue” bitten lip makeup style popular in France.
This design is also strategic in that it translates to the appearance of a fuller pout, with the shine living on the outer edges of your lips and the color within the lip line. As if all this isn’t enough, Bisou Jelly Sheer Lip Balms are also practically weightless.
Three coveted shades make up the freshly released trio: Aïssa, Pomme D’amour, and Bonbon à la Rose, reminiscent of a berry, candy apple, and French rose pastille, respectively. Those who have a soft spot for Violette_Fr’s Bonbon Caramel hue (found in the individually sold Bisou Jelly Sheer Lip Balms) are out of luck but, of course, can still always snag this rich golden brown on its own.
Besides the Balm and Jelly, Violette_Fr’s Bisou franchise includes the Bisou Blush. It’s a kiss, too, but for your cheeks this time: created with a built-in brush that blends the blush’s two swirling shades into a result that’s multidimensional.
While we’re big proponents of getting Violette_Fr’s Bisou Jelly Lip Trio for a little self-care-slash-TLC moment, it will also make a spot-on romantic gift for Valentine’s Day to delight your wife or girlfriend. Its box, after all, depicts a sumptuous dessert and comes equipped with a mirror… although you don’t need a reminder that you’re the fairest of them all.
