Last November, Daniel Silverstain won the Incubator Award for Gen Art’s 20th anniversary show, and he has been riding high ever since. This week, the designer presented his fall 2016 offering as a see-now-buy-now collection.
Inspired by the architecturally influential Bauhaus movement in Tel Aviv during the Fifties, which has permeated his label’s DNA, Silverstain gave this lineup a futuristic spin with clean, minimalist lines in interesting fabrics. His use of sharp pleats on dresses, skirts and tops at times rendered the pieces a bit tricky. But Silverstain redeemed himself with some great outerwear, most notably the shearling toppers.
