“This season I was really in the mood for femininity, even if I couldn’t include my tailoring accents,” said Erika Cavallini, summing up the core of her spring collection. A series of asymmetric frilled maxiskirts worked in a color palette of bright tones were paired with oversized sartorial blazers, while a silk polka-dot pajama set with white piping was softened by girly, sweet ruffles. Utilitarian elements injected an urban feel into the lineup, which included a cotton shirtdress with applied front pockets and big leather patches. Cavallini also designed a range of one-of-a-kind pieces. A vintage U.S. Army camouflage jacket got a feminine makeover with a frilled detail on a shoulder, while a pair of original Levi’s 501 jeans were transformed into a maxiskirt with a high front slit and a silk insert.
