Fifteen years after its release, Wes Anderson’s “The Royal Tenenbaums” continues impressing designers, including Piero and Miriam Cividini, who were inspired in particular by the style of Margot Tenenbaum (played by Gwyneth Paltrow). Margot’s polished look, which was infused with a touch of eccentricity, inspired the lineup that included many variations of her signature polo dresses. Knitwear specialists, the Cividinis focused on lightweight knitted polo shirts and frocks, mainly decorated with graphic intarsia, as well as hand-painted abstract motifs. Pants, crafted from cotton poplin or a shiny blend of silk and viscose, had cropped, wide legs, while skirts ranged from midi-plissé styles to pencil designs with asymmetric silhouettes. There was a practical vibe throughout the collection, which also included urban outerwear, such as a mauve cotton parka and a waterproof jacket with a drawstring hem.
