There was an easygoing mood at Albino’s spring show. Silhouettes, cut a tad oversized, conveyed a sense of freedom, which immediately conjured up thoughts of summer holidays. Prints, including stripes, tropical flowers and — quite unusual animals for a spring lineup — penguins were rendered in pastel shades of orange, yellow and light blue that showed up on off-the-shoulder maxidresses, roomy shirtdresses, tunic tops and baggy pants. A urban, street touch was introduced via a range of lightweight outerwear options, including a parka unexpectedly layered over a shimmering Lurex sheath dress embellished with an elasticated band at the waist. Compared with previous efforts when he indulged in opulent jacquards, Albino Teodoro opted for simpler, fresher materials, succeeding in creating a collection that looked modern and charming.
