It’s hardly a secret that Jill Stuart loves the Seventies, and this season she reinterpreted the decade with a youthful yet sexy twist. “This girl is magnetic, dancey, she’s the girl you want to sit next to at a party,” the designer said backstage.
Stuart showed plenty of long, languid dresses that were light and fluid, all in sweet floral prints with a bohemian vibe. Then she went more sensual with lingerie-inspired pieces, such as bias-cut camisoles and dresses and knotted bandeau tops. Other looks in the lineup fit comfortably within her established niche: delicate blouses tucked into high-waisted flared trousers with a front slit that created a long, lean leg; a leather star-motif dress and a sheer black lace jumpsuit that suggested Stuart was channeling her inner rock star.
