While trawling through Portobello Road markets, Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi turned up a piece of rainbow-colored embroidery from the Seventies that ended up forming the basis of their collection for their diffusion label Preen Line. They applied this paisley-esque motif to much of the collection, but it looked best on a two-tone suede button-front skirt and a belted suede shirtdress, as well as on the front of a sheer black dress with spot-embroidered sleeves.
The mixing of a micro-daisy print with plaid checks in floaty chiffon dresses had a fresh grungy feeling, while a striped rib knit added a sporty touch. Worn layered altogether, the result was effortlessly cool. And the denim, especially a drop-waisted dress with a full skirt, had youthful appeal.
