Using the men’s T-shirt as a base for her spring 2015 collection, Léa Peckre worked a vibe that veered part Japanese, part Belgian. The young Paris talent crafted a strong mix of tailoring and transparency, the latter rendered with simplicity and somberness that, although suggestive, never felt overtly sexy. Case in point: a T-shirt minidress with tiers of ruffles executed with just the right control. Peckre’s layering of sheer panels and her kimonolike outerwear, such as the gray belted wrap coat that opened the show, demonstrated equal restraint and chic.
