Designer Junichi Abe gave his spring collection for Kolor a sporty flavor, as he had with his most recent men’s line, shown in June. “But it is still elegant,” he hastened to add. Indeed, the sophistication quotient ran high, thanks to a novel mix of fabrics and striking color combinations that made for a quirky — yet wearable — fusion.
Standout materials included silk and cotton double-bonded to polyester jersey. Abe was also fearless in pairing a purple and gray top with beige and orange shorts. And, against the odds, it worked well.
