Held in the VPL boutique Victoria Bartlett’s spring presentation was stunning, and, as usual, it included more than clothes. Aerialists and a contortionist, dressed in the designer’s color-blocked bras, leotards and slinky dresses, swung, stretched and twisted gracefully. The clothes, in a strategic mix of lavender, turquoise and red, emphasized contours and movement. A film featuring the same performers dropping and swinging 20 feet from a rustic bridge in an upstate quarry was shown simultaneously, and emphasized the suppleness and drama of the collection.
