The designer took her cues from the decorative treasures of the Ming and Qing dynasties — exquisite porcelains with landscape and nature themes. To translate this traditional Asian inspiration into modern clothes, Tam used the motifs on beautiful embroideries that were appliquéd onto mesh tops and dresses. It all gave her collection a younger, sportier vibe.
There was a nod to men’s wear with traditional shirting stripes embroidered and infused with bold colors. Tam showed great range this season, from A-line dresses and dresses with sexy cutouts to Bermuda shorts and geometric tops. But what really stood out were her beautiful, delicate embroideries worked for day and night.
