Sofia Sizzi’s charming spring dress lineup had a strong Forties feel with terrific retro shapes, details and colors. Still, there were enough fun minidresses, jumpsuits and easy two-piece looks to give the collection a modern balance.
Sizzi’s inspiration throughout the show was Surrealist photographer Dora Maar, whose influence surfaced in the cut-out details on full skirts and dresses and floating flower prints. Sizzi made ample use of pleated intarsia, paillettes and bold crystals to punctuate even her simplest shapes.
