Edun designer Danielle Sherman studied West African and Japanese textiles and delivered some appealing interpretations in her spring collection — black elongated knit tunics with red striped details, an Oxford blue kimono-style shirt and pants set, and terrific layered knits paired with wide cropped pants.
“I was also drawn to the circle — a symbol of unity, balance and continuity,” Sherman explained. It appeared on calf hair panels in leopardlike prints on black or white short dresses; on hand-stitched appliqués on tops, and, more evidently, as round belt buckles.
