“It’s time for the good times,” Madonna wailed on the soundtrack for Sibling’s spring show, an ode to the pop deity’s Eighties incarnations.
The collection swung between pinups and club kids, the former in jean jackets to resemble broderie anglaise and the latter in clingy miniskirts and bra tops.
By the standards of Sibling design trio Joe Bates, Cozette McCreery and Sid Bryan, this show registered low on the zany scale, with filmy argyle knits and a sparkly, patterned cardigan bordering on the banal. Outsize skirts with crocheted flamenco ruffles — Madge in her “La Isla Bonita” guise — and fuzzy tops made out of thousands of black rubber bands were more reason to celebrate.
