For Australian designer Kym Ellery’s first presentation in Paris, she showed a collection that was promising albeit still a bit green. Said to be inspired by collages from the Seventies and interior design, she experimented with volumes and texture. For the former there were roomy bell-bottoms and A-line, high-waisted skirts worn with cropped tops; for the latter, graphic hand-crafted tapestries, made by artist Ben Baretto, were placed on the fronts of boxy bustier tops and dresses. While appealing, their placement on the clothes looked somewhat unfinished.
