Eli Mizrahi added texture to his almost all-black sensual eveningwear offering this season. He opened the show with a leather bra top with a sharp pencil skirt, then he showcased sheer tops and see-through knitted trousers and dresses as well as various sexy LBDs with simple but bold cutouts.
“It’s all about the human form, which is a female body,” said Mizrahi, adding that the collection is loosely based on the minimalist art movement of the ’50s.
He also showed three denim looks and expanded into the swimwear and footwear categories. The denim gowns signaled a new direction where the brand can go after Mizrahi is bored with the current all-black narrative.
Mizrahi’s vision for the brand is very straightforward — if you have a banging body, he will make you look good on the red carpet. Guess it explains why the show attracted major stars like Doja Cat, who showed up with makeup that was probably inspired by the Shiseido campaign from the ’80s, as well as Shailene Woodley, Christine Quinn, Isabeli Fontana, Ariana DeBose, Dove Cameron and Normani.
