Fearless designs and traditional craftsmanship make PatBo the brand that it is. Founder and creative director Patricia Bonaldi presented her debut runway show for her spring collection at the recently opened Le Pavillon Restaurant helmed by chef Daniel Boulud. The lineup ranged from sizzling swimwear with unexpected details to a squad of flowing dresses with cheeky cutouts and delicate trim details, and even a cameo from model and Brazil native Alessandra Ambrosio, who opened the show in a pair of bright white men’s wear trousers cut from fluid linen fabric with a corset-style waistband and coordinating bralette.
The look: With its feminine frills and tropical elements, Bonaldi sought to amplify the elements of her designs her brand has become known for — this time around adorned with wood beads, feathers, jute trims and intricate hand-beading and embroidery, featured on gowns, minidresses and even lounge sets, all in a largely neutral color palette with shades of gold, and a surprise pop of neon pink on a beaded cutout one-piece dress.
Key pieces: Blazer-style minidresses are updated with rib cage cutouts and hand-embroidered lapels, fringe and lace sleeveless cutout maxidresses, and an embroidered crochet beach dress, corseted waistband on trousers paired with matching bralette (with and without cutouts).
