Sailing and African safaris were the two main themes that inspired Alessandro Dell’Acqua’s No. 21 collection for resort. The former explored the feminine vs. boyish “borrowed from the sailor” dichotomy — for example, an oversize sailor jacket with gold buttons that was slit at the sides and worn over a flirty plaid tiered skirt.
The Africa theme showed Dell’Acqua’s playful side with safari motifs on printed poplin dresses accessorized with what he called “voodoo necklaces” and embroidered sandals. Lace and macramé also figured prominently via beautiful midi skirts and a standout voluminous white dress with ruffled pockets.
