Giambattista Valli focused on a fierce, unbridled idea of femininity for his younger-in-spirit secondary line, Giamba. His cheerful resort collection of short shifts and ruffled rompers featured busy, colorful print motifs — some rendered in sequins and embroidery — of cherries, lips, butterflies, ladybugs, flowers and rainbows.
A bomber jacket covered in lips and ladybugs, as well as printed denim in zebra and leopard print — his take on an urban tribal theme — added a little toughness to the lineup’s prevailing girlishness. A series of maxidresses, including a white dress with long ruffled sleeves covered in white macramé flowers, conveyed Valli’s signature romanticism.
