Rodolfo Paglialunga’s pre-fall collection for Jil Sander was chicly commercial. He stocked it with well-executed merchandise the Sander customer expects: clean, graphic silhouettes in luxe fabrics. There were striped shirts and a classic, hooded wool coat featured a detachable nylon lapel. He added a few whimsical touches, such as fur “feathers” to trim mannish, oversize coats. Another belted coat was done in multicolor striped leather instarsia. Elegant and purposeful, the collection was an exercise in form and function.
