In his first pre-fall effort for Bally, design director Pablo Coppola looked to screen beauties Julie Christie and Catherine Deneuve, yielding a collection full of Sixties shapes and details.
There were high-shine leather raincoats, and lots of tweed, laminated for capes or covered in metallic foil for jackets and skirts that looked like candy wrappers. One skirt suit was made of black leather, with gold foil on the inside, while a bow blouse came in a jaunty red lip print.
Silk and polyester knit dresses were bright and ribbed with a synthetic feel, in keeping with the man-made fabrics of the era. Among the outerwear highlights was a long red suede coat with a detachable shearling collar.
