“As a niche brand, we have to offer poetry,” Massimo Piombo mused at the presentation of his namesake label’s spring collection, letting his personal taste guide him. Channeling an eclectic mood, Piombo embraced an Asian feel that translated into vests and tunics crafted from an exclusive Belgian linen and cotton interior design fabric. These were layered under more traditional trenches and coats.
The designer said he also got inspired by Italy’s traditional elegance to develop a sophisticated evening range which included a chic double-breasted jacket with a silk lapel. This was worn with a more casual micro polka-dot collarless shirt for a playful, irreverent touch.
