Creative director Massimiliano Giornetti added a dash of chaos to his latest collection for Salvatore Ferragamo, sending out clashing patterns and weaves in a jaunty lineup inspired by Andy Warhol’s paint-splattered Ferragamo oxfords.
He paired lean, ankle-grazing trousers — most of them with a small cuff — with statement knits. Some had a pierced heart on the front, while others were covered in starbursts or in an abstract vector pattern, with the latter looking as if it had been borrowed from a Bauhaus painting.
Other trousers and tailored suits were worn with shirts and ties paved with busy abstract patterns — some matching, some clashing.

Outerwear came straight from the modernist artist’s paint box, as in a mustard duffle coat; a teal shearling with a black collar, and a bright red wool topcoat. Meanwhile, one gray herringbone duffle coat came with two big plaid patches, shaped like splotches of paint.
The collection was a feast for the eyes, but the question remains whether the Ferragamo customer is prepared to embrace the bohemian chaos as enthusiastically as Giornetti.
