The breathtaking beauty of Florentine Palazzo Vecchio’s Salone del Cinquecento, a huge room featuring works by Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti, proved a heady distraction from this collection, which was lacking in artistic flair. The uninspiring merch-friendly lineup included a plethora of slim-fit suits in gray shades, along with more casual, chunky wool sweaters. The odd rock ’n’ roll leather pant jarred with the collection’s overall sober tone.
