Vince continues to extend its reach in menswear.
The fall collection, titled “Architected Sartorialism,” succeeded in pushing the limits of the line — but not far enough to risk alienating its core customer.
What that translated into was an assortment of wearable, elevated basics in a monochromatic palette that was heavy on texture. Chunky garter-stitched cashmere sweaters, suede coach’s jackets and washed cotton oxford shirts were offered up alongside double-breasted blazers and pleated pants that the brand paired with flannel or Henley shirts, the latter of which was a key style for the season.
The pants, offered in single or double pleats, were drapey and slightly oversize for comfort. There were Shaker polo sweaters and vests, band-collar windbreakers, brushed twill field jackets, leather aviator bomber jackets, relaxed cardigans, cashmere sweaters, French terry polo shirts and the requisite quarter-zips, offered in cashmere and other fabrics.

This season also marks the rollout of the Vince tailored clothing collection from Peerless Clothing, which created upscale double-breasted suits with pleated trousers, knit cashmere suits and rich overcoats. The line had a successful introduction last fall, prompting its expansion this season, the company said.
The apparel was complemented by the brand’s footwear, which included leather slides, lace-up loafers or boots and even clogs, along with sunglasses, scarves, gloves, hats and other accessories to round out the look.
All told, the collection, designed by Caroline Belhumeur, never lost its California edge, with its distinct indoor-outdoor inspiration. The message was driven home by its look book, which was shot in a John Lautner-designed home in the Hollywood Hills with concrete walls and monochromatic materials that served as the perfect backdrop.
As Belhumeur said: “Our men’s fall collection is rooted in Brutalist design. We wanted to bring in those architectural elements of raw materials, geometric shapes and monochromatic palettes but through our California lens, so there’s a softness and warmth to the silhouettes. We shot the look book in the Hollywood Hills at the Lautner Harpel 2, which really complements the sartorial codes and saturated tones throughout the collection.”
