Inès de la Fressange wants to put the joy back into fashion. For her namesake collection, she waxed nostalgic about an era when women took their clothes less seriously, offering up Seventies-inspired designs.
Describing her collection as a “down to earth” proposition of wearable, seasonless pieces suitable for any occasion, de la Fressange worked with lots of velvet, corduroy, silk, brocade, suede and wool. Her warm color palette ranged from dusty pink, burgundy, forest green and mustard to shades of navy, white and cream.
While the cord flares in pastel shades and suede miniskirts were definitely of another era, most still had commercial appeal, and there were also lots of the classics synonymous with de la Fressange’s casual Parisian look.
Highlights when it came to the fun factor included a pair of deep green velvet overalls with gold embroideries. A cozy Aran sweater was paired with a pale pink silk bias-cut skirt for a casual, chic look.
