Alexandre Vauthier had all the points covered in this broad collection incorporating mixes of velvet, leather and lace, but also cotton, wool and denim. The wide-ranging offer went from an evening range plumped with brief cocktail minis in satin, velvet and plumetis, red metallic leathers, flocked velvet jumpsuits and the like, to comfort-chic homewear and everything in between.
The designer likes to have a clear thread linking his collections. Direct spins from the house’s recently presented couture collection included studded denim, a line of dresses and suits revisited in black Japanese crepe, and a sweatshirt take on his multimedia couture sweater emblazoned with jagged motifs in red, white, black and blue.
Fresh directions included feminine spins on a men’s white poplin shirt and a range of sexy striped shirtdresses. A capsule of sexy tweed pieces with black patent leather accents featured a matching fanny pack that hinted at what’s in the works: A bag line.
