In a flashy display of flamboyance that began nearly two hours after its expected start time, Richie Rich brought some energy to the close of Style Fashion Week, hosted at Madison Square Garden. Sequined, sparkly and metallic bodysuits and club gear spoke to nightlife culture, while graphic hoodies called for inclusivity with logos like “bully-free zone.” There were daywear propositions like color-blocked leather dresses, velvet skirts and embroidered denim. There wasn’t anything particularly interesting or new, yet plenty of the mundane and questionable. Fun as it was intended to be, a fashion show didn’t seem warranted.
