In its sixth season, Cinq à Sept is already in every major retail door, mainly due to its fashionable point of view done at an advanced contemporary pricing. “We really wanted to create an experience inspiring people to be excited about wearing clothes and getting dressed,” said creative director Jane Siskin. “It’s really so important and something that a lot of people missed.”
So for fall, she focused on juxtaposing textures and eras. “We were really inspired by the romance of the Fifties, but we love Nineties grunge, so I [wanted to] incorporate the two,” she explained. For her, that meant fun jacquard coats with furry sleeves, embroidered leggings with T-shirts and furs, ruffly dresses over long-sleeve tops and tassel-fringed tuxedo jackets for the ultimate tuxedo alternative — looks that were as exciting on the runway as they’ll be at Le Coucou, the hot new restaurant in SoHo.
