Narguess Hatami looked to the nomads of her native Iran for her fall collection. The tribes’ costumes and their tents inspired both the colors and the embellishments peppering the pieces. These included a range of jacquard wool designs, including a T-dress and a coat worked in a graphic pattern and embellished with fringe. Fringe also injected movement into frocks decorated with a pattern reproducing the sinuous lines of desert dunes, while a cable-knit vest was punctuated by tiny metallic medals. The texture of Persian carpets was reflected in a tulle and macramé flared skirt, while the animal silhouettes used in rugs’ design were splashed on Lurex sweaters.
