Tenby designer Kara Janx presented a collection where hyper-feminine elements were combined with strong masculine references. Long brocade dresses with ruffles were juxtaposed against suits worked in mannish fabrics, such as one that paired culottes and a jacket with a capelike panel.
Inspired by her trip to Barcelona last summer, Janx also tried to recreate the special light effects of Antoni Gaudi’s landmark Sagrada Familia cathedral in a multicolor print used for a range of pieces, including a boyish wool bomber with leather sleeves and a fitted mini dress in a textured fabric. The effect was youthful and infused with a slightly grunge feel, which didn’t blend seamlessly with the opulent attitude of her other pieces.
