In one of her strongest collections to date, Rachel Zoe amped up the luxe factor and presented an intricate fall collection filled with delicate pearl embroideries, playful metallic fringe, rich velvets, bold brocades and sweet lace. Inspired by the Thirties and the Nineties, she played with the juxtaposition of masculinity and femininity, pairing chic tailored blazers with feminine dresses and flirty skirts. The combination was modern and cool.
Zoe also offered great outerwear, from Mongolian lamb fur vests to a mixed media furry bomber, and placed a new focus on nighttime looks. “Everyone always asks me to do more evening,” she said. Their request was granted via an over-the-top fully beaded slipdress that had a flapper feel and a disco-inspired beaded jumpsuit. Of the latter, the petit designer half jokingly noted, “I can’t wait to wear that tonight, but I have to literally cut it in half to wear it.” Confident yet playful — just like this collection.
